In the evenings, we knew what awaited us. We would spread a blanket out in the garden and look up at the sky with grandma. At night, the countryside sky is busier than any traffic in the middle of the city. That is the kind of crowd we grew up with. And how lucky we were.

With so many stars above, grandma still kept up with us, still finding constellations even when we wouldn't stop chattering. "What's that? And over there, what is it? And those three, what are those?"

The Big Dipper isn't just a constellation grandma showed us when we were little. It is a journey back in time, every time we see it in the night sky. It is a way of honoring everything grandma was, and everything we hope to carry forward, under the same beautiful sky, crowded at night, the way only a countryside sky can be.

With a cut inspired by a ritual blouse, the SPIN LIKE A CHILD, SUMMER SKY dress is made from a light cotton that feels like cotton "foam". The embroidery is done entirely by hand, over roughly eight hours of patient work. The human touch and the small imperfections are what give this dress a value no machine could ever replicate.
